Lime kiln

Mr. Ma Shouchun started lime production in 1982 using traditional earth kiln and ordinary shaft kiln production processes.

In order to improve the calcination quality of lime, reduce energy consumption in lime production, and improve the production environment, Mr. Ma Shouchun, based on years of experience in lime production, devoted himself to the study of lime production technology and equipment. In 1997, he built the first new structure active lime kiln in China with self-raised funds, and obtained the national invention patent in 1999.

In August 2003, he won the special gold award at the China International Patent and Famous Brand Expo. This new type of lime shaft kiln is also widely referred to as the "MAS lime kiln" in the industry. Nowadays, MAS lime kiln has gone through 20 years of development, and MAS lime kiln technology has been widely promoted and applied. More than 170 kilns have been built, and it has become one of the main mixed lime kiln types in the domestic lime industry.1609836820586259.jpg


The core structure of Ma's lime kiln is the cleverly designed furnace grid pyramid located inside the kiln. It effectively solves key problems such as balancing the material, discharging, ash distribution, and increasing the heat exchange area in large-scale vertical kilns. At the same time, the effective volume of the vertical kiln can be increased to over 1000 cubic meters, achieving significant breakthroughs in kiln structure with PLC batching, automated production, and centralized airtight kiln gas discharge.

With the introduction, digestion, and absorption of international advanced technology, the transformation and upgrading of domestic vertical kiln processes, the development of supporting key process equipment, the standardization of vertical kiln operation and management technology, automated control, the application of energy-saving technology, and the scientific matching of environmental protection and dust removal technology, Ma's vertical lime kiln has gradually developed into a relatively complete and scientific lime production technology system. The kiln type has been serialized and enlarged, with characteristics of small investment, small footprint, low energy consumption, strong adaptability, and environmentally compliant emissions. It is widely used in industries such as steel, non-ferrous metals, chemical, calcium carbide, building materials, papermaking, and environmental protection.


The main features of MAS lime kiln include:

(1) Unique design and clever structure; 

(2) Low cost (approximately 20,000 RMB investment per ton); 

(3) Short construction period; 

(4) Long operating life (major maintenance required only after 5 years); 

(5) Low energy consumption (approximately 15% coal saving and around 60% electricity saving compared to regular vertical kilns).


MAS lime kiln has superior performance:

(1) Large daily output (up to 400 tons per day per unit); 

(2) High product activity (up to 320-435ml); 

(3) Low over-burning rate (≤6%); 

(4) Stable calcium oxide content in the product (CaO≥90%); 

(5) Convenient operation control inside the kiln (no core extraction, no deviation, no layering, no clogging, and balanced settling of ore and coal on the kiln bed).
